Excellence in Occupational Therapy With Compassion and Care

At Sprout & Anchor OT, we believe every child already carries the seeds of growth within them. Our role is to nurture those seeds through gentle, relationship-first therapy that honours their sensory needs, supports emotional regulation, and builds confidence in everyday life. We offer neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed care for children of all ages. Whether your child needs help with sensory processing, feeding, emotional regulation, motor skills, or behaviour-as-communication, we’re here to walk alongside your family.

WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?

Occupational therapy helps children build the skills they need for daily life — things like:

  • regulating their body
  • playing with others
  • eating safely
  • using their hands
  • moving with confidence
  • participating at home, daycare, or school
OT looks at the whole child: their sensory system, emotions, environment, routines, and strengths. We support development in a way that feels safe, connected, and empowering.

Services

Sensory Processing & Self-Regulation

Many children experience the world with bigger, brighter, or more intense sensory signals. We help children understand their sensory needs, build regulation skills, and feel more anchored in their day. What sessions might include:
  • Sensory play using natural elements
  • Co-regulation strategies
  • Movement-based calming or alerting activities
  • Developing a personalized sensory plan
  • Visual supports for home and school
  • Connection-based behaviour support

Feeding Therapy

Gentle, child-led feeding support for:

  • Bottle refusal
  • Picky eating
  • Food stuffing
  • Mealtime anxiety
  • Trauma-related feeding challenges
Our approach prioritizes safety, connection, and the child’s sensory experiences. No force. No pressure. Just gradual, trusting exploration.

Autism & Neurodiversity-Affirming Support

We celebrate neurodivergent children for who they are — not who others expect them to be. Support may focus on:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Transitions
  • Elopement safety
  • Play and social connection
  • Executive functioning
  • Sensory accommodations
  • Autonomy and self-advocacy
Our goal is to help each child feel safe, capable, and confident in their body and environment.

Trauma-Informed Care

For children with difficult beginnings or experiences, we focus on:

  • Felt safety
  • Predictability
  • Gentle co-regulation
  • Strengths-based routines
  • Building trust through play
  • Supporting caregivers as partners in healing
Trauma-informed OT understands that behaviour is communication, and safety is the foundation for growth.

MEET THE THERAPIST

Hi, I’m Bianca. I’m a pediatric occupational therapist who believes that children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and deeply supported. My practice is rooted in nature, relationship, and respect for neurodiversity.

My approach blends:

  • sensory-based therapy
  • trauma-informed care
  • attachment-focused practice
  • play and connection
  • gentle feeding therapy
  • Indigenous-informed awareness and cultural safety (when appropriate)
When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me with my kids by the ocean, exploring forest trails, or collecting driftwood — reminders that growth and resilience are shaped gently over time.
